5 Easy Houseplants For Kids
You might be surprised to find that your kids could love responsibility (well..kind of). Houseplants are good for so many reasons like purifying the air in our homes and giving us joy when we get to see them grow. Here’s a list of 5 easy to care for houseplants that would be great in your kids room (or anywhere else in your house!)
Pothos
These guys love bright light or low light. Seriously, you can put it in a closet and it will be fine. Water every other week and watch it trail down your bookshelf!
2. ZZ Plant
Just like the pothos, a ZZ plant can be put just about anywhere in your house. Water as little as once a month and it will be happy!
3. Spider Plant
Spider plants love some indirect light - water weekly (it will be ok if you forget) and after a while it will start flowering and sprouting little babies. You can propagate the new growth and create a whole new plant!
4. Snake Plant
You’ve had to have heard of these already. They are slow growers, can take a LONG time between waterings, and live anywhere from full sun to windowless rooms.
5. Chinese Evergreen
Chinese evergreens are similar to snake plants in that they can survive low light conditions. Their new leaves are fun to watch unfurl, and they like a good drink of water every other week or so.
